Production Paradise

Welcome to the third edition of Showcase Buenos Aires with the latest news and projects from production-related companies hard at work in this fascinating, ever-buzzing South American city.

From 4 to 23 September, the city will be holding the sixth edition of Festival Internacional de Buenos Aires - an international festival covering all kinds of audiovisual culture, theatre, dance, music and visual arts.

Filmic is a Buenos Aires-based production company that works throughout Argentina. Specialising in filming for advertising campaigns, they also provide production services.

Filmic has worked for brands such as Ford, Coca Cola, and Lever amongst others. Recent projects include Logan for Renault, Padres for Sprite, and Cremas for Veet.

Cinetauro was founded in 1979 and has since become one of the major advertising production houses, with over 1700 spots produced for local and international clients.

Among an extensive client list are J.Walter Thompson (Unilever) Vega Olmos Ponce APL (Coca-Cola) Grey Worldwide (Ford Motors) Ogilvy & Group (Quaker Oats), Bozzel Vazquez (Danone) Lautrec - Euro Bates (Visa) and Aura (PepsiCo).

Over the years, Buenos Aires-born Ale Burset has photographed for clients including Reebok, VW, Chevrolet, Phillip Morris, Converse, Adidas, Ford, Chandon, Energizer and Quaker, among others. His most recent jobs have been for Nike, Greenpeace, Clorox, Hospital Aleman, Osteoporosis and Vectra.

Working internationally, the photographer spreads his time between Argentina, North America, Mexico and Europe.

In Spain, he is represented by AProductions and in the USA by Denise Stewart.

A cultured and refined artist who loves to go on travels and record them through colour has created a summer house on the shores of a lagoon and filled it with unique objects - Amaltea, a simple yet sophisticated pavilion of European inspiration.

Antonella Arismendi's creativity and cutting edge style is known to produce striking images with a sleek sense of aesthetics, composition and colour.

She recently had work commissioned by several well-known clients and magazines associated with the fashion and advertising industry, including Rolling Stone, FTV, Brando, Daimler Chrysler and DMode Magazine.

Monteverde Models is dedicated to satisfying the needs of both the national and international advertising market. The company started in 2001 as a new proposition in the national arena due to the quantity and variety of un-represented talent.

Today the agency is characterised by its prompt and effective response to client needs as well as its marked growth within the sector.

The colour shots shown here are by photographer Gonzalo Lauda for the Cross Jeans campaign in Poland. Models are Delia Espinola, Martin Crespo, Tomas Anzalone, Rodrigo Gregoire, Tomas Decurgez, Rosa Marco and Norberto Arcusin.

The black and white photos are from the Gonzalo Engel and Verónica Urien Studio and were commissioned for Watt Magazine. Models featured are Noelia Las Heras, Adriana Jescheke and Jorge Laclau.

In July the company worked with Nivea worldwide, Coca-Cola Latin America, Laguer Beed Mexico, Sony Latin America, Fruit of the Loom USA, and Wella Eastern Europe.

Ricardo Piñeiro is considered amongst the pioneers of the Buenos Aires modelling industry.

They represent many top models including Maria Jaqueline Antón, Lara Bernasconi, Andrea Bolatti, Maria Cecilia Bonelli, Jimena Buttigliengo, Soledad Fandiño, Paula Peralta, Emilia Iannetta, Stephanie Demmer, and Loli Lopez, as well as other important names in the industry.
