Welcome to the second edition of Showcase Buenos Aires with up-to-date news and projects from the Argentinean capital's top production-related companies - a selection from the complete directory that you will find at www.productionparadise.com.

In this edition, we draw your attention to QuickFlick World, a global digital film festival that takes place simultaneously once a month in a growing number of the world's creative capitals, including Buenos Aires. The festival aims to share and constructively critique films and learn from partners around the world, as well as connect artists, share creativity and blend cultures.

AM Production Services is an experienced, skilled still-photography production company.

Over the last eight years, the company has worked on prestigious, important local and international productions for clients such as Coca-Cola, Nestle, Chrysler, Chandon and Philip Morris.

Fallon UK and Orange recently entrusted Red Creek Productions for their shoot in Buenos Aires.

Swiss photographers Stijn and Marie shot the campaign on locations around the city with a completely local cast.

Red Creek provides 'peace of mind' to clients such as Kenzo, Nokia, Nextel, Orange, Diesel, Gatorade, Nissan, Sprint and Lotus.

Cinetauro was founded in 1979 and has since become one of the major advertising production houses, with over 1700 spots produced for local and foreign clients.

The company has won several awards in national and international festivals including Clio, Cannes, The New York Festival, Golden Award of Montreaux. F.I.A.P, London International Awards, Lapiz de Platino, Circulo de Creativos, Martín Fierro and Top Ten.

Among an extensive client list are J.Walter Thompson (Unilever) Vega Olmos Ponce APL (Coca-Cola) Grey Worlwide (Ford Motors) Ogilvy & Group (Quaker Oats), Bozzel Vazquez (Danone) Lautrec - Euro Bates (Visa) and Aura (Pepsico).

The company also has a documentary department, associate photographers and a wide experience in international production services. It stands out for its production structures, on-line and off-line editing and equipment which enable it to undertake any type of production independently.

Barchetta Studio has a very interesting view of their company, which we think is best expressed in their own words:

Based in Buenos Aires, it is one of the hot agencies in South America representing models and fashion artists.

This enables the company to offer all the resources needed for shoots, castings and fashion shows - from personalised location scouting to the complete post-production process.

Ricard Berisso is a professional photographer specialising in fashion and advertising.

He has worked with high-fashion designers such as María Prior, Claudia Larreta, Tereza Calandra, as well as with leading companies through advertising agencies and magazines such as Cosmopolitan and Vanidades.

He aims always to portray the essence of the underlying idea through the camera, looking for new lighting methods and tools, with the aim of producing the image that best communicates the concept with a fusion between the classic and the modern, and with a specific style that is characteristic of his work.

The studio now also provides website design and development services, enabling people to interact with brands and achieve a more integrated communication.

Over the years, Buenos Aires-born Ale Burset has photographed for clients Reebok, VW, Chevrolet, Phillip Morris, Converse, Adidas, Ford, Chandon, Energizer and Quaker, among others. His most recent jobs have been for Nike, Greenpeace, Clorox, Hospital Aleman, Osteoporosis and Vectra.

Working internationally, he spreads his time between Argentina, America, Mexico and Europe.

When asked about his work Ale says, 'All my photographs are the result of my obsession for lighting and a beautiful image - aesthetics'.

In Spain, he is represented by AProductions and in the USA by Denise Stewart.

Virginia Del Giudice is an interiors photographer with particular expertise in natural light. She continues working with film, and writes her own texts.

Her stories are published in some of the best magazines in the world, The World of Interiors, Vogue, Elle Deco, AD among others.

On a grey, wet day, Virginia took a series of photographs in the Prado, a district of Montevideo. The house featured here is today pretty well abandoned but was an embassy during the Second World War and later the residence of a Uruguayan president. These photos were published in the Dutch Residence magazine.

Advertising photographer Mosy Obadia works also as director of photography in film.

With this premise, photographer Victor Wolf presents us 'Bicicletas' (Bicycles) - a limited edition book. The striking, atmospheric black and white photos we show here are taken from it.

Fashion and beauty photographer, Juan Vaz Darte, is based in Argentina and is looking to work on more projects internationally.

Juan describes himself as a 'specialist in beauty who makes every subject look their best'.

The concept for the set shown here was to integrate into the scene a beautiful and delicate figure contrasting with the brutish clumsiness of a wild environment.

The photographer, Antonella Arismendi says, 'silently, both worlds reach a meeting point... somehow they were not so different.'
